Privacy Policy
Effective date: February 6, 2026
Overview
MyGut.io (“MyGut,” “we,” “us”) is building a product to help people track food, symptoms, and bowel movements. Right now, this website is primarily a waitlist signup page. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Waitlist information: if you join our waitlist, we collect your email address.
- Basic usage data: when you visit the site, our servers may automatically receive information such as IP address, device/browser type, pages visited, and approximate location derived from IP address.
- Signup metadata: when you submit the waitlist form, we may receive technical details like the referring page and your browser’s user-agent to help prevent spam and debug issues.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive health information through the waitlist form. Please do not include health details in any message fields (the waitlist form only asks for an email).
How we use information
We use information to:
- add you to the MyGut.io waitlist and contact you about access, updates, and launches
- operate, maintain, and improve the website
- protect against spam, abuse, and security incidents
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
We do not sell your personal information.
How we share information
We may share information in limited circumstances:
- Service providers: we may use vendors to host the site, manage email, or store waitlist signups (for example, a webhook to a spreadsheet or email platform). They process information on our behalf.
- Legal and safety reasons: if required by law or to protect MyGut.io, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: if we’re involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we may transfer information as part of that transaction.
Cookies and analytics
We may use cookies or similar technologies to keep the site working, understand basic traffic, and protect against abuse. If we add third‑party analytics or advertising in the future, we will update this policy.
Data retention
We keep waitlist signups as long as needed to contact you about MyGut.io and manage our launch, unless you request deletion or the law requires otherwise. Server logs are typically retained for a shorter period for security and troubleshooting.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe: you can opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link (if provided) or by contacting us.
- Access / deletion: you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.
- Cookie controls: most browsers let you remove or reject cookies. Some site features may not work properly without cookies.
International visitors
If you access MyGut.io from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.
Children’s privacy
MyGut.io is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date and take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by posting a notice on the site).
